General

Q. How do I organise a quote for my project?
A. The best way is to contact us by email or by calling Dave on 0419 430 575. We will then arange a mutually acceptable time to meet with you to discuss your project.

Q. How long does it take to process an order?
A. As rule a kitchen tikes 5-6 working weeks from the date of receiving your deposit. Most other smaller jobs tike 3-4 weeks.

Q. Who is responsible for plumbers, electricians and associated building work?
A. We have a team of quality tradesmen that can do all you plumbing, electrical and building works.

Q. Can I use my own tradesmen?
A. Yes, you can use your own plumbers, builders and electricians if you prefer. Alternatively we can organise tradespeople for you in which case their charges will be included in the overall costing.

Q. What sort of hardware does Cutting Edge use?
A. We use only quality German made Blum products which come with a full lifetime warranty. We also use Haffele and Hetich hardware where necessary.

Q. What are kidcboards?
A. Kickboards are an essential part of most built in joinery. We only use plywood for our kickboards. This protects our customers from water damage issues encountered by other cabinet mackers. We pride ourselves in providing a fully integrated moisture proof base to our product. Cheap plastic adjustable legs are not used. It is quality and attention to detail that makes Cutting Edge better than others.

Q. What sort of handles can I have?
A. You can have any handles that are available. If you want us to supply your handles please refer to our link to Sentry Trading and make your selection. Otherwise you can select and purchase handles separately and we will fit them for you.


Polyurethane

Q. What is polyurethane?
A. Polyurethane is a spray painted finish similar to the paint on your car. It is applied with a spray gun and then baked. It is available in any colour conceivable.

Q. Is polyurethane hard wearing?
A. It is very durable, but like any paint is susceptible to small chips and scratches if treated badly.

Q. Can it be repaired?
A. Yes, it can be repaired. Small touch up kits can be purchased or an entire door or panel can be resprayed. This is why polyurethane is such a popular choice.

Q. How do I choose a colour?
A. Polyurethane can be sprayed in any colour at all. The easiest way is to choose a colour from a colour chart such as Dulux, Wattyl or one of the many online colour palettes available.

Q. How do I clean the polyurethane surface?
A. Warm soapy water and a damp cloth, or spray and wipe are the best ways of cleaning. No abrasive cleaners should be used.


Doors

Q. What sort of doors are available?
A. Many different types recessed panel, solid timber, veneer, vacuum form, polyurethane, melamine or craftwood are just some of your options we can supply them.

Q. Can I have sliding doors on my wardrobe?
A. Yes, you can, but at Cutting Edge we believe there are better options. Talk to us to find the best option for you.


Bench tops



Q. What sort of bench top should I use?

A. Normally bench top selection comes down to your budget but as a rough guide, laminate is the cheapest option. Granite and marble are the most expensive.

Q. Is laminate a durable alternative?
A. Yes, it is. While not being as hard wearing as stone tops, it is still very scratch and stain resistant. Usually dimensions or diamond gloss finishes are more durable.

Q. What is CaesarStone?
A. Caesarstone is a quartz based man made stone.

Q. Are there other options to CaesarStone
A. Yes there are many other suppliers. Quantum Quartz, SmartStone and Silestone are just a few. They are just as good as CaesarStone.

Q. Can stone or Conan bench tops be repaired?
A. Acrylic bench tops such as Corian, Quantum Quartz, CaesarStone and Laminex freestyle an be repaired with good results. Naturally occurring stone and marble bench tops can be repolished, but cracks and chips cannot be repaired.
