Tie Down Rods?

Whats missing from this new Residential Construction Picture?
Tie down Rods! Like our recent post on tie down straps, tie down rods are the heavy duty equivalent.
In the picture below the metal beam across the garage requires a tie down rod to securely anchor it to the wall.
How do we know? At Houspect we insist on seeing not only the Approved Construction Plans but also the Approved Engineers Plans when we inspect houses through the construction process.
Importantly, our Houspect Inspector reconciled the construction to the Engineers plans and identified the missing tie down rods which was subsequently installed.
Inspecting during the construction can be as important as inspecting at the end.
