I've heard differing opinions on base material for pavers. These are the materials I'm seeing:
Road Base
Dolomite
Dolomite with a little cement
Paver sand

That depends upon what is most forgiving. Floating timber floor of some kind. Could be real timber, laminate, but certainly not carpet, vinyl or tiles.
