Client Home Tour - The Wood Family

I had the pleasure of visiting Jane and her beautiful home in Munster, which is based on the . I was recommended by one of our Service Supervisors to go out and photograph their home – not just for its functional design, but also to see how all the finishing touches have made it so special.

Jane and her husband, Chris, have two boys and a 17 year old cat. She wrote and told me what she loves most about their family home.

“We are so pleased with how our house has turned out and are glad someone has noticed the effort we took to try and finish it off as best as we could.

I would say I love the family/kitchen/dining area of the house, as it is where we spend most of our time as a family. I love how the kitchen overlooks the pool, which was the main focus when designing that area.I can keep an eye on the kids when they are in the pool in summer and still do my thing in the kitchen. The only downside to that is there isn’t much space either side of my oven because this was the only way we could make it all fit.

I love my replica Eames dining chairs that I put with our existing wooden dining table, and our breakfast bar stools are pretty funky too. I also love our charcoal leather chaise lounge in the family room, the colours go so well with the floor.

Chris’s favourite thing in the house in the Escea built in gas fire, it does look good and we had a shelf built above it for feature pieces.

Our alfresco is pretty small but we made the most of the space by paving out further and using bench seats to not over crowd the area. We were going to put a built in BBQ in but realised that would take up too much space too so we got an infrared BBQ on wheels that fits in nicely.

Our gardens are fairly simple but neat and attractive, and our pool is the biggest feature of the backyard and a huge hit with the kids and their friends – this was the reason that we built in the first place.

Lastly the master bedroom and ensuite are probably my favourite rooms and are nice and spacious, with a four metre long walk in wardrobe, of which I have taken up most of the space! Our bathroom is larger than a normal bathroom as we made room for a free standing bath which is much used and a real feature. I love the colours of the tiles, bench and doors we chose giving the room a serene feel. Our shower has a built in shelf to eliminate a shower caddy for products and looks neat and clean.

Our boys have a separate activity room between their bedrooms which gives them their own space and they spend a lot of time in there.
