Home Design Wins Two Awards for Builder
ANYONE who is anyone in the Perth building game attended the 2010 HIA-NAB Perth Housing Awards in the Grand Ballroom at Burswood Entertainment Complex recently.
Recognised for their pursuit of excellence in new home construction, Webb & Brown-Neaves were honoured on October 23 with two awards – Project Builder of the Year +$550,001 and Overall Project Home of the Year for a property in Halls Head.
This home design was based on the Webb & Brown-Neaves Sundowner standard design with several modifications added.
Classic Sundowner Home Design Wows Judges
Design sales consultant Cleve Riches said the winning Halls Head house was judged on a point basis in terms of functionality, quality of build, design and furnishability, the price and value for money and also footprint on the environment.
Built along the canals, the contemporary four-level home design has a northern aspect with view to the rear.
Mr Riches said that owners Peter and Esma were originally from Applecross but were after a sea change that would suit their lifestyle.
This included big outdoor entertaining areas, pool, a large under-croft, room for their boat and enough space for family to stay.
After a few minor site complications, the result was a luxurious four-bedroom, four-bathroom home design with a loft and bi-fold doors from the living out to two alfresco areas with cantilevered balcony.
Mr Riches said the way the outdoor living zone homogenised to the family and dining areas was one of his favourite features of the home.
“The home has a great design and functionality but it also helped that they furnished the house beautifully, incorporating their own personalities,” Mr Riches said. “They’re house-proud, love their new home and wanted it to look the best. However, I also think the success of the house was largely attributed to a very close working relationship built between myself, Peter and Esma. I was even invited to the house-warming which was just lovely.”
