Kensington Plaster Makeover

Kensington Plaster Makeover

This single sided Victorian Terrace has been in the same family for over 50 years.

The lath plaster walls and ceilings were in urgent need of repairs. After close inspection, the owners were advised the most feasible solution would be to put plasterboard over the existing lath walls and ceilings. The ceilings were reinforced with metal battens to which the plasterboard was fixed to. All surfaces were re-lined with new plasterboard.

In keeping with the period and style of the house, victorian gutter cornices were installed. The plasterer used Topline Cornice no. 12B (210mm x 160mm) throughout which is suitable for the high 3.3m ceilings.

Topline rosette no. 28 was installed into the lounge and Topline rosette no. 22 installed into the two bedrooms.

The long hallway was sectioned off with two arches constructed giving the hallway a very grand look. Topline rosette no. 3 was installed into the hallway.
