DIY Paint and Wallpaper
Crockers Paint and Wallpaper are experts in their field, who enjoy participating in further promotions such as Homeshows. The latest homeshow held in the Sutherland Shire proved successful with great displays and demonstrations in hanging wallpaper.
As stockists of paint and wallpaper we were able to show the public how to use wallpapers in a much more fashionable way. Many of our displays showed our visitors what wallpaper can look like when it is painted in a stylish paint finish. Much has changed in the wallpaper world, with user and environmentally friendly designs now most prominent. The old fashioned methods of wallpapering have now long gone, and with proper wall preparation and the new non woven styles in papers, the future of wallpaper is encouraging. Wall surfaces are less likely to become damaged with removal, and they are much easier and mess free in installation.
Wallpapering is a do it yourself product, and Crockers have the all answers for you along with accessories needed for wallpapering. Our staff have participated in hanging and also painting the different finishes that we have displayed in our stores. Between us we have over 100 years in experience. Our best knowledge and advice is consequently passed on to you the consumer.
Some of our newly enthused homeshow participants were wanting the wallpaper, but just weren’t quite ready to tackle the job themselves, so armed with a small list of recommended paper hangers to give them free measure and quotes, they were once again reassured that this elegant luxurious wallcovering was well within their sites.
So with paint finishes and plain painted feature wall colours still part of the décor, (and some might say diminishing), we now get the feeling that to “get with it” you really need to “get wallpaper”!!
The costs range from $53 per roll up to what ever you wish to spend. Many of our designs are available now and in stock, and others take up to 4 weeks to come in.
To do a feature wall you will need anywhere from one to four rolls. Costs to have a paper hanger install ranges from $50 to $150 per roll depending on wall preparation and if painted finishes are required.
So if you do a simple calculation: a large feature wall might cost you $500 to do. Wallpaper has a long life of approx 20-30 years. So it only costs you up to $25 per year, at the same time adding value and style to your most valuable asset…your home!
