Two Kinds of Carpet Fibre - Polypropylene

Synthetic fibres have the general qualities of being stronger and more resilient than natural fibres.

Polypropylene BCF
Usually the most affordable of all the fibres. It is stain resistant and water repellent. Its economical finish, however, can make the vacuuming of hair/lint difficult.

Polypropylene Heatset
Generally less expensive than other fibres it is the most popular type of rug we sell. The heatset treatment straightens the yarn permanently and makes it ideal for vacuuming. The heatset yarn is also ideal for use in the mechanical looms used to weave rugs, ensuring a consistent and high quality machine made rug. These rugs are colourfast and resistant to staining. Polypropylene is a continuous fibre and therefore will not shed.
