If you're in the process of building a new home and relocating interstate, chances are, you've got a lot on your mind. Choosing to move interstate with a self pack moving container is a great option especially when you're looking to save some money and don't mind getting stuck in and doing some of the work yourself.

If you're not familiar with the concept of moving the self pack way, it's a very easy process to get onboard with. Full service removalists will generally take care of your whole move doing the packing and loading onto a truck themselves. The main difference in a self pack move is that you do the packing yourself and load in into a specially modified moving container. We transport the container Australia-wide, to your new home and you unpack it at the other end.

One of the main reasons this method is so popular (besides the huge savings you'll make vs a full service removalist), is that it gives the mover a lot of autonomy in their move. You know what is packed where and you are in control of packing things properly. We can give you loads of tips and advice about how to pack your container. Our blog is a great source of information for this, check it out: www.budgetselfpackcontainers.com.au/Page/blog. Another big advantage of using a self pack shipping container is that it is so easy to be able to store everything if needed. There's no double handling or unpacking into a storage unit only to have to repack it again, the whole container simply gets stored in one of our secure container depots ready to deliver whenever you need it.

Case Study - Moving from Sydney to Brisbane
  1. Get a quote. Call our office on 1300 659 221 or go to our website where you can obtain an obligation free quote. If you are able to supply us with the suburbs you are moving to and from it will be very accurate. If you are not sure exactly where you're moving to, no problem, we can still give you an approximate price.
  2. Confirm your quote. If you are happy with our low price, we will confirm your move over the phone. This usually takes around ten minutes and we will discuss things such as where the container will be placed at your address(es), we do this by looking at google maps, time frames, packaging required etc. We can usually get a container out to you within 3 days of your quote confirmation if required, or some people book months in advance, it's up to you. We require a $300 deposit to confirm your booking with the balance remaining due before delivery of your container at its final destination.
  3. You pack. We will deliver a moving container to your home. You have a total of 40 days to split between packing (and unpacking) your container. Packing generally takes longer than unpacking with the majority of people taking around a week to pack at their own leisure.
  4. Interstate relocation. We will return and pick up your loaded container. All of our containers travel by truck (with a tilt tray by default, or sometimes a side loader) to the nearest rail terminal, where they then travel interstate by rail. In Sydney, your container will be departing from Yennora and in Brisbane it will arrive at Acacia Ridge.
  5. Delivery. Your container is delivered by truck to your new address where you can unpack at your own pace (within the 40 days provided container hire). When you are finished, we will return and pick up the empty container and you are free to settle into your new home!
