You’ll never go wrong with pumpkins on Halloween. Make them an impressive display by gathering different sizes and shapes. Carve a variety of faces and light them up from inside. Line or pile them up randomly in a garden corner or right at your patio steps.
Add horror humor.

If you want a literally Happy Halloween in your backyard, place humorous signs and décor. You can choose to have comic characters or cute figures, instead of really creepy and gory ones. You can also think along the lines of the example in the photo – put up signs like “Don’t feed the plants.”
Dress up your pet (and its house).

This goes well with Idea #2. Funny and cute concepts mix perfectly with pets, particularly cats and dogs. Dress them up for Halloween, and decorate their houses, too. Just make sure there’s nothing harmful there that they’d find too irresistible not to eat.
Put bats or other Halloween items on and around your trees.

Some even go to the extent of hanging a dummy mummy or a corpse on a sturdy tree in front of the house or at the back. But you can actually perch some bats, crows, giant spiders and other props on trees.
