Yes it will crack with driving over it get them to replace it thats bad workmanship, its crazy they can even suggest to aply thin layer on top, if it was a small path side of the house and done properly may be ok. But for a driveway no way they have to change it trust me on this i know been there once in 2010 i got them to replace it or i would take them to civil court, not vcat they ate useless. Get them to replace the driveway. Have it done right.
