That was it, the star part unscrewed from the skirt, then it was a simple flat head screw and the usual set up.
Thanks heaps, it was doing my head in....

I have changed a lot of tap washers but have come across these taps that have no cover over the usual top nut/screw. They are cheap plastic style ones around…
