Yes, I am thinking that if the upgraded bricks is only going to cost $3k, then it is probably more worth while to go with the solar & battery…

There are a couple of things in that package that are worthwhile, including the raised ceiling height to 2600mm, and laundry fit out.

I take it that they would have done a survey and soil test before they went to tender wouldn't they? So you would have known about the higher site costs?

Hard to tell from those photos but it looks like 450mm stud walls in the first picture (which is upside down).
But the second picture, it doesn't look like 450mm stud…
