Glass windows and doors always get dirty easily, and always subject to the environmental elements. You have to clean it more often than not, it is easy and you don’t have to call a professional every time. Here are a couple of steps to follow when cleaning your windows and doors.
Gather these materials:
Step 1:
The key to sparkling new glass windows and doors is to wipe of the dust first. Do this with a dry sponge this method will remove the loose dust. This makes cleaning easier, by removing the loose dust before using the liquid solution, it lessen the chances of dust sticking to the surface.
Remember to remove any small particles and objects from the window sill before cleaning the window.
Step 2:
Clean the window sill. After cleaning the glass surface, wipe down the frame as well with a dry dusting cloth. Wipe down hinges, door knobs and handles, if any. For difficult to reach corners and edges, you can use cotton swabs, old paint brush to clear out any dirt and debris from the said areas.
Step 3:
Cover the sill for protection. Before applying any liquid solution, place an old newspaper or any absorbent cloth along the sill or edge to catch drips. Liquid solutions can damage any wooden surface, so be extra careful.
Step 4:
Make your own cleaning solution. You can make your own solution by using white vinegar and distilled water. Just mix equal amounts of white vinegar and distilled water and put it in a spray bottle. If you don’t like the smell of vinegar, you can always add lemon juice so the smell is not that strong. This homemade cleaning liquid is effective and eco-friendly.
Step 5:
Spray and clean. Spray solution directly to the glass surface. Using a soft sponge, rub away the dirt. Rub the glass in the circular motion to remove any spots and make it clean and shiny.
Step 6:
Dry the glass with a squeegee as quickly as possible. Start from the top to bottom.
Step 7:
Wipe and dry.
Step 8:
Buff with newspaper or a lint-free cloth.
