Standard ceilings or higher ceilings

I built standard 2.4 ceilings purely due to the cheaper cost in cooling/heating the house.

Most councils set maximum widths - e.g 5.5m wide.
They also like to check crossover work which some councils might charge for an inspector to take a look.

Speak to the administrator.
If it is wound up then you *may* get at least $1 back.

Im concreting around mine and putting a metal lid on half of it.
Can still be easily accessed by removing the metal lid.

Potential costs for small 3 metre extension at rear of house

Yea i think that will be the problem.
It wont be a straightforward extension.
Best guess would be $50k in design, engineering, approvals before you put hammer to nail.

Roughly cost $1500-2500 per square meter.
So you're asking for an extra 24sqm... 50k sounds about right to do the work if its a straightforward extension.
