Not at all. I recently purchased KOH products (mostly advertise on FB) and find it great. But a sponge and soapy water will do the trick!

I agree, they will date very quickly.
In relation to the length of the stone, joins, etc. We needed 3100mm for our splashback and accepted we would need two pieces.…

Mine is about 100mm higher than my benchtop and find it is easier to clean the sides from possible spillages. Definitely the right height and makes sense.

I have the Ring Doorbell and Floodlight / Camera and cannot recommend it enough. A tip, go for the wired as that way you never have to change the batteries…

Weed, unfortunately.
I do Yates Weed and Feed and if it is not a huge area, I get my weeder tool and take them all out by hand.
