Had the same problem. My private inspector said it's an absolute 'lazy workmanship.'

Metricon in Sydney is aweful, but hopefully 'she will be just fine'
This is certainly NOT the way to the connect the joists together.

We had a similar problem where the SS also said its a non load bearing wall and didnt worry about rectifying it. We were annoyed. Honestly its just bad workmanship.…
