The door in the picture just has a simple mortice lock that works with a key.
You can achieve this with any door if you want.

Gyprock bulkhead will certainly cost much more then cabinet panels. Although it just doesn't make much sense to have storage at that height from practicality standpoint.

i doubt that extending storage upwards would cost that much. simple cabinets with doors aren't that expensive. it's usually the drawers that add a lot.

Also have you looked at the august home lock - nothing on the front of the door and discreet lock on back of door. The other option is Level Bolt.
